Itinerary
Meet the driver at Marina di Carrara cruise facility and set off to Florence. Upon arrival, soon admire the unique skyline of the city from Piazzale Michelangelo, the esplanade that overlooks the town center.
Afterward, continue with a car sightseeing with a stopover at Santa Croce square, whose church houses the tomb of Michelangelo and Galileo Galilei. Move then to Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge of Florence.
We finish our car tour in the very hearth of the city, dropping you off right by the Duomo. From there it’s easy to walk on your own around the area considered the Religious Center of Florence with the Baptistery, the Giotto’s bell tower and the stunning Cupola of Brunelleschi. 10 minutes walk away from the Duomo square there is Signoria Square with the gorgeous Palazzo della Signoria that houses the town government since 1300. This is considered the Political Center of Florence.
Free time for savoring some local specialties in a traditional restaurant or at the food market.
The afternoon could be spent for some shopping or visit the Accademia Museum where is housed the David of Michelangelo.
An alternative program could be arranged by skipping the car sightseeing around the town center and have more time to spend visiting the main monuments of Florence: Santa Croce Church, the inside of the Baptistery, the Uffizi Museum or the Accademia Museum eventually led by a local guide.
On the way back to Carrara, possibility to make a detour and enjoy a lovely ride in the Tuscan countryside.
